They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I’m not sure what that makes a video, but it’s a pretty big number. These clips each tell an amazing story of beauty and adventure.

Hiking is therapeutic on every level. Waking up early in the morning and tackling a handful of miles at your own leisurely pace while the sun slowly rises is a powerful experience. Watching the sun slowly fall to rest over the horizon after tackling a 2000 foot elevation going on a 9 mile day hike is like letting out a huge sigh of relief and accomplishment.

While the mountains and trails in your backyard are convenient and beautiful, seeing a place for the first time has a different feel to it. That feeling of “newness” is can only happen one time for every place that you visit and lucky for us there are a lot of places to visit.

7 Magnificent Hikes That Take Your Breath Away

This compilation doesn’t cover every amazing hike on the planet, that would be longgg list. Each and every one of these hikes is definitely worth checking out.

Brought to us from the peeps over at BuzzFeed video this compilation covers some truly breathtaking expanses of land.

  1. Kalalau Trail
  2. Yosemite Grand Traverse
